Monet in the afternoon with Carrie Clayden Saturday August 24th, 2019 11:30 to 4:00
The Magic of Monet
Claude Monet has long been my favorite painter, he is world renowned and beloved. We will channel Monet's legacy in this class, using his palette for inspiration, his style, his glowing light filled art and his enchanting garden from Giverny, France. I will have pictures from his actual garden and home to bring as our inspiration, along with much knowledge of his life and painting techniques. I will combine the impressionist style with my abstract expressionistic style and show you how to paint with feeling. We will use layers, many brush strokes, and our hands to bring to life our dreamy landscapes, and Lilly pond. We will work on several paintings with 15 minute warm ups, and fun music to stimulate our staying loose. Even if you are afraid to paint, I can help you. I will demonstrate and help everyone individually, providing much encouragement and critique. You will leave with many finished paintings to hang in your home or give as gifts, you will learn many useful techniques for how to paint with feeling, how to capture light and create dreamy, moody paintings.
A great time!
Supplies: Bing an apron and pictures for inspiration.
